2016 KTM Launch Dates Confirmed

KTM Australia announces 2016 launch dates for new models.

KTM has announced launch dates, but not pricing, for a number of bikes we can expect to see in Australia this year.

In March, the updated KTM 690 Duke and 690 Duke R are expected in dealerships.

The 1290 Super Duke R Special Edition will go on sale in April, and the touring version – the 1290 Super Duke GT – arrives in May.

The 1290 Super Duke GT is fitted with a half fairing, a slightly larger passenger seat, and saddlebags as standard equipment.

The engine has been slightly detuned engine producing 129kW, a drop of only 2kW from the R version but peak power occurs at higher RPM. Maximum torque remains the same but at lower engine revs, all this is designed to make the GT more comfortable on long trips.

The fuel tank has also been increased to 23 litres giving a greater range, and the clutch has been strengthened to cope with longer running times.

There’s also cruise and stability control, hill start assist, heated grips and tyre pressure sensors.

Finally, the 2017 range of EXC and SX off-road bikes will be available in July or August.
