2016 Moto Expo Melbourne: 2017 Models Unveiled

The 2016 Moto Expo Melbourne will showcase the best the motorcycle industry has to offer.

The 2016 Moto Expo Melbourne presented by Shannons Insurance opens today and visitors are being treated to a stunning range of new and existing models, as well as a diverse range of unique displays and shows.

The show is the largest in Australia and covers a massive 30,000 sqm at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

The highlight of today’s events is the unveiling of the new 2017 model bikes between 9am and 1pm.

There is plenty of anticipation surrounding Yamaha’s iconic 2017 YZF-R6, as well as Triumph’s Bobber, Ducati’s Supersport S, the all new Honda CRF450R.

It is the first time these bikes have been seen in Australia.

Kawasaki are displaying five new models alone – the 2017 Versys-X 300, Z650, Z900, Ninja 650L and Ninja 1000.

Triumph has the Bobber, Street Cup, Scrambler, T100 and T100 Black on display, BMW has brought the soon to be released BMW G310R and Royal Enfield is showing its Himalayan which suggests the adventure bike may be destined for the Australian market very soon.

  • CF Moto (650MT)
  • SWM (650 Superdual)
  • Ducati (Multistrada Enduro 950)
  • Yamaha (MT-09, Tracer 700, XMAX 300, Tricity 155, YXZ1000SS SE)

One of the highlights of the show is Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire, its first electric bike, and visitors to the show will be able to see the bike and experience what it’s like to ride.

The LiveWire is on a worldwide “Experience Tour” as Harley-Davidson continues to gather customer feedback.
