Suzuki wants you to discover your dark side.
The 2016 Boulevard M109R Black Edition is now available in two new “sinister” colour schemes, Pearl Blue with Gloss Black and Metallic Matte Grey that give the already blacked out model an even darker look.
The Boulevard M109R is Suzuki’s most powerful cruiser ever with a 109 cubic inch (1783cc) V-twin that produces 95kW and a massive 160Nm.
There are two variants – the standard model and the Black Edition.
Mechanically they are identical, but the Black Edition has a large number of parts finished in black rather than the chrome of the standard model, giving the bike a far more imposing look.
The Black Edition also has clear indicator and tail light lenses.
Everything about the Suzuki M109R is big.
It’s a very heavy bike at 347kg fuelled and ready to ride, but despite its weight the M109R is remarkably easy to ride because of the work Suzuki engineers have put into the chassis design.
The massive amount of torque is available all through the rev range and that produces amazingly crisp acceleration for such a big bike.
And even the exhaust noise is big – the V-twin produces a throaty, aggressive exhaust note that makes the M109R stand out as a power cruiser.
That power is transferred to the rear wheel by a shaft drive, and through a massive 240mm (240/40R18) rear tyre – the largest ever used on one of Suzuki’s production bikes.
Stopping such a heavy bike requires big brakes, and Suzuki have used GSX-R inspired radial mounted four piston front calipers and 310mm front brake rotors. The rear brake system has a dual piston caliper and 275mm disc.
The 2016 Suzuki Boulevard M109R Black Edition is available now for a recommended ride away price of $20,990 and is backed by Suzuki’s two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.
