2016 Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Ténéré Released

Yamaha has released its new 2016 XT1200ZE Super Ténéré.

The new Yamaha model has an upgraded engine, electronically adjustable suspension, cruise control and is available in special edition yellow and black livery to celebrate Yamaha Motor’s 60th Anniversary.

The improvements in the engine characteristics of the 2016 Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Ténéré have been achieved with enlarged intake and exhaust ports, revised camshafts and piston ring designs, and a new exhaust system.

The refinements give the engine a smoother and better character, and an extra couple of kilowatts.

A new rubber shock absorber in the clutch assembly and improved damper design in the engine housing of the shaft drive system has enhanced the transmission feel and performance.

The new electronically adjustable suspension allows the rider to select from four preload settings and three damping force settings via a multifunction handlebar switch.

There is also three stage traction control, ABS with unified braking and cruise control as standard equipment.

Unified, or combined, braking systems have come under serious criticism in the past but Yamaha has designed this system to only work in one direction. Applying the front brake will also apply a small amount of rear to settle the bike down under brakes. However, applying the rear does not affect the front.

The instrument cluster has been updated with a new LCD multi-function display.

The new model is priced exactly the same as the previous at $21,999 plus on road costs.
