Toby Price has won the final stage of the 2019 Rallye du Maroc, but Andrew Short has taken the overall win after an epic battle with Pablo Quintanilla over the last special stage.
Andrew Short (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) went into the final stage of the rally with a lead of just 28 seconds, and despite a 5th place in the stage he held out his teammate Pablo Quintanilla for the overall win.
It is Andrew Short’s first ever FIM World Championship Rally win.
Quintanilla finished the stage in sixth place 53 seconds behind Short, securing 2nd overall and giving Husqvarna a 1-2 in the rally.
Joan Barreda Bort (Monster Energy Honda) finished 3rd overall.
Toby Price’s stage win wasn’t enough to secure the rally win or even a podium, missing out on third place by just 7 seconds.
But his strong performance in this rally has sent a message to his fellow competitors that he is fit and ready to tackle Dakar next January.
