BMW Motorrad continues to set motorcycle sales records.
The growth of BMW Motorrad continues on a steep and steady climb with 2015 data showing it was the brands best year on record.
For the fifth consecutive year the German brand achieved a new all-time sales high, selling considerably more motorcycles and maxi-scooters in 2015 than in the previous year.
Sales climbed to 136,963 units in 2015, representing a growth of 10.9% on the previous year.
In December alone, deliveries increased to reach another all-time high of 7,497, up 6.6% from last year.
Customer acceptance of the brand, a reputation for quality, innovation and reliability, and being able to meet the needs of the market are all good reasons for the continued sales growth.
The wide range of BMW motorcycles also helps, and there are no less than 22 motorcycles and scooters across 6 product families available to the Australian market.
And since the release of the S1000RR in 2009 and its success on the race track, BMW Motorrad has claimed a share of what was a new and significant market to the company – the 1000cc sports bike market – that was traditionally dominated by the Japanese manufacturers.
This year we will see BMW Motorrad tackle another new market, the learner approved roadster category, with the G 310 R.
Taking on the likes of Honda’s CB300 and the Kawasaki Z300 will be another new and interesting challenge for the German giant, but given the company’s record over recent years I’m predicting yet another sales success.
