CFMoto to release two new motorcycles in Australia in 2016.
Chinese brand CFMoto is reportedly still planning on two new motorcycle releases for Australia this year.
Despite having to delay the release of its 400NK last year, the bike is now scheduled for release in the second quarter of this year.
The 400NK will go up against the likes of KTM’s 390 Duke, the Honda CB300F and Kawasaki Z300.
The engine will be a liquid-cooled, DOHC eight-valve parallel twin, based on the 650NK power plant but sleeved down to 400cc.
Final specifications are sketchy and no pricing details are available either, however to remain competitive it will have to be priced in the high $4,000 bracket.
The Honda CB300F sells for $5,699 and the Kawasaki Z300 for $5,999, and both of those brands have well established reputations for quality and reliability.
A 650cc adventure bike is also rumoured. CFMoto seems to playing its cards close to its chest on this one, and the only information is that styling could come from Austrian-based Kiska Design which was responsible for the CFMoto 150NK.
Clearly the engine will be based once again on the 650NK unit.
CFMoto continues to make headways into the Australian market with a range of motorcycles and off road vehicles.
Its off road range in particular has been popular with the farming community and government agencies because of its competitive pricing.
