Ducati has announced that 2015 was another year of consistent growth and record sales for the Italian manufacturer.

According to financial figures just released by parent company Audi, Ducati delivered 54,809 motorcycles worldwide in 2015, an increase of 21.5% on 2014.

Ducati’s sales grew more than the total motorcycle market worldwide, and the company now has a market share of 5.4% in the over-500cc segment.

North America is Ducati’s largest market accounting for 22% of all sales.

In Italy sales increased by 53% in 2015, and other well performing markets include Germany, the UK and China.

Asia-Pacific markets, which includes Australia, showed a 12% growth.

The growth in sales took revenue to 702 million Euro, and operating profit to 54 million Euro.

CEO Claudio Domenicali has described Ducati as “a solid company, well prepared for the challenges of the future”.

“Key financials confirm that Ducati’s growth is on a consistently upward curve,” added the CFO André Stoffels.

The record growth is attributed to the company’s constant investment in new technologies and new models.

Ducati has released nine new models for 2016, including the XDiavel, Multistrada 1200 Enduro and Scrambler Sixty2.

These models in particular have taken the company into three new segments – the “Cruiser”, “Off Road” and the sub-500cc segments.

Ducati’s sales network now includes more than 720 dealers in over 90 countries, and the company employs over 1,500 employees.
