GMX Zipper 49cc Dirt Dike Recalled For Non-Compliant Brakes

GMX Zipper 49cc Dirt Bike
The GMX Zipper 49cc dirt bike has been recalled for a non-compliant braking system.

A recall notice has been issued through the ACCC for yet another motorcycle that does not comply with the safety regulations for brakes.

The GMX Zipper 49cc dirt bike does not comply with Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2011.

The bike fails to meet the requirement for a floating or sliding type brake caliper, and the braking system does not automatically distribute the braking effort equally onto each brake lining without needing adjustment at the brake caliper.

This could lead to a braking failure and potentially cause a serious injury to the rider.

The bike was distributed nationally between 1st March 2014 and the 15th September 2015 through two websites and a small number of dealers around the country.

The two websites – gmxmotorbikes.com.au and goeasyonline.com.au – are also tied to a showroom in Melbourne.

Anyone who has purchased a GMX Zipper 49cc dirt bike should stop using the bike immediately.

Purchasers should contact GMX Motorbikes, who will organise the installation of a replacement braking system.

Enquires relating to this recall should be directed to recalls@goeasyaustralia.com.au.
