KTM has confirmed the Vitpilen 125 and 401 models will be in dealers for 2017.

KTM, Husqvarna’s parent company, has now officially confirmed that two versions of the Vitpilen road bike are going in to production.

The confirmation came from a statement in the KTM Group’s annual report.

The two bikes are the Vitpilen 125 and 401 models based on the concepts first seen at the Milan show in 2014, and KTM says the production models will be in dealers for 2017.

The bikes will use the single-cylinder engines from the KTM Duke/RC125 and Duke/RC390 models.

KTM group’s annual report states: “For 2017 the next step will be realised with the arrival of the first two Vitpilen production models.”

The group has a grand vision for Husqvarna – “The upcoming segment-redefining Vitpilen and Svartpilen production models will set Husqvarna Motorcycles on a blazing trajectory to become Europe’s third-largest motorcycle producer – with the aim of doing so by 2020.”
