An iconic brand with an iconic style, Indian has returned to its heritage with the release of the 2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic.
Borrowing from classic Indian Motorcycles of yesteryear, the Roadmaster Classic carries a traditional design blended with modern comforts.
Featuring valanced fenders and chrome accents the Roadmaster Classic is highlighted by the genuine leather touring seat, trunk and saddlebags with fringes.
Priced from $38,995 for standard black, it stands out even more in the two tone colour options at $39,995 in Green/Cream or Red/Cream.
The trunk comes with a built-in passenger backrest and can be detached if desired and plenty of other accessories are available from Indian for further customisation.
Powering it is a Thunder Stroke 111 engine capable of 161Nm of torque with great output at low revs affording excellent acceleration in any gear.
Ride quality is enhanced by a telescopic front fork and an air-adjustable single shock rear suspension while braking is taken care of by 300mm semi-floating rotors.
But unlike its early predecessors, this Indian comes with tech features to make those long trips more bearable with heated grips and seat, throttle-by-wire cruise control and a 7” infotainment system and 100W audio system.
This is on top of keyless ignition with proximity key, powered windscreen, adjustable passenger floorboards, TPMS and LED headlamps.
Indian Motorcycle Country Manager Peter Harvey expects lovers of the Indian brand will be excited about the new offering.
“The Indian Roadmaster has been synonymous with comfort for touring riders since its introduction in the 1950’s and the Roadmaster Classic is an undeniably beautiful motorcycle that our riders have been asking for.”
The 2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic will be available in Australian dealerships in April.
