New Australian Distributors For Aprilia, Moto Guzzi

The Australian distributorship for Aprilia and Moto Guzzi has shifted to PS Importers.

In what seems like a very sensible brand reshuffle, the Australian distributorship for motorcycle brands Moto Guzzi and Aprilia has shifted from John Sample Automotive to PS Importers.

Both Moto Guzzi and Aprilia are owned by the Piaggio group, the largest European manufacturer of two-wheel motor vehicles.

John Sample Automotive introduced Aprilia Motorcycles into the Australian market in 1997 and later added the iconic Moto Guzzi brand to its stable in 2003.

PS Importers is already the Australian distributor of two of the Group’s key scooter brands – Piaggio Scooters and Vespa – and distributes the Triumph and Hyosung brands in Australia.

The change in distribution rights comes by mutual agreement between John Sample Automotive Pty Ltd, Piaggio Group and PS Importers.

Moto Guzzi LogoPaul Chiodo, Managing Director of PS Importers, says “For PS Importers it makes great sense to add Moto Guzzi and Aprilia to our current Piaggio and Vespa scooter distribution in Australia.  We have a strong relationship with Piaggio and this further enhances our product offering of the best European brands.”

“The consolidation all four of Piaggio Group’s brands; Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi under PSI is a natural progression, as this will reinforce the strength of Piaggio Group brand presence in Australia”, said Simone Niccolai Managing Director Piaggio Asia Pacific.

The transfer of distribution will happen over the coming months and is expected to be completed in 2016.

Dealers and owners should see little impact during the changeover, as all three companies work together to ensure that customer service, motorcycle and service parts supply and warranty administration services all continue without interruption.
