Piaggio to show new models in Milan

Piaggio Group announces new models ahead of EICMA show.

The EICMA show in Milan begins this week, with the doors opening on Thursday morning and plenty of interesting reveals expected again this year.

Running through until Sunday, this show is considered the largest and most important in the world, and many manufacturers choose to reveal new models here rather than at any other venue.

Even before the show officially some manufacturers are choosing to release snippets of information.

The Piaggio Group have hinted of three new Moto Guzzi models, the V9 which will have an 850cc engine and shaft drive and come in two variants – the V9 Bobber and the V9 Roamer – a 1400cc bagger variant of its California model dubbed the MGX-2, and a scrambler model to compete with Ducati and Triumph called the V7 II Stornello.

The Aprilia RSV4 RF will be given minor tweaks for 2016, and a new program known as the Aprilia Factory Works project has been announced which allows customers to order their RSV4 direct from Aprilia Racing developed and built to customer requirements.

There’s also two new scooters being released under the Piaggio brand as well as an eBike that can connect to the internet via a smartphone to deliver a variety of services from fitness tracking to geolocation.

We’ll bring you more details of these bikes as they are released later in the week.
