Yamaha MT-10 unveiled in Milan

Yamaha Motorcycles lifts lid on new MT-10.

Yamaha has surprised us all again by revealing a 1000cc MT-10 at EICMA.

The bike is using a re-tuned R1 “big bang” cross plane engine in an aluminum chassis with a short wheelbase of just 1400mm that gives supremely light and agile handling performance.

The Yamaha MT-10 engine has three riding modes and there’s also a three stage traction control system, slipper clutch and cruise control.

Much of the suspension and brake technology on the Yamaha MT-10 has been derived from the 2015 R1 as well.

Yamaha says the bike should “appeal to those riders who are looking for a new kind of connected riding experience that can be enjoyed on any road, any time and at any speed”.

This bike puts Yamaha into play in the large capacity naked class and clearly challenges Suzuki’s recently released GSX-S1000.
