If you want a bike that stands out from the crowd, then maybe the 2016 Yamaha MT-07 “Moto Cage” is for you.

Yamaha is officially launching the radically styled MT-07 variant at the Scottish Motorcycle Show this week.

The bike was first shown at the EICMA show 16 months ago, and this updated model is certain to attract attention.

The Moto Cage is based on the standard MT-07, but has a host of stunt-inspired parts and has also been given a grey and fluorescent yellow makeover.

The stand out feature of the bike is definitely the colour scheme that starts with a fluoro yellow tubular cage wrapped around the bike’s centre section to provide extra chassis protection.

The fluoro treatment is carried through to the wheels, knuckle protectors and radiator guards.

Combined with blacked out chassis components the bright colour scheme makes the bike one of the most glaringly distinctive machines to ever come out of Yamaha.

It’s a similar colour scheme to one available for the upcoming MT-10.

The Moto Cage also has a bash plate, an exhaust protector plate and adjustable headlight mask.

Yamaha’s original “Cage” concept was based on the XJ6 back in 2012, but its high-torque engine and agile chassis makes the MT-07 an even better choice for the stunt style makeover.

Yamaha Europe points out that the MT-07 Moto Cage is a special edition built up by an official Yamaha dealer with genuine Yamaha parts.

As such it has all the standard features of the MT-07, including ABS. There’s also an extensive collection of accessories available to customise the Moto Cage even further.

It’s available in Europe but there’s no word yet on whether the Moto Cage will find its way to Australia.
